The Girls

Hello Everyone! Welcome to our little bit of the internet. We're just getting started and since Kevin's brother Steven and sister Julie have started their own blogs...we just had to get in on the fun! Please enjoy and let's hope this helps us keep in touch more often. We'll start with our little girls (a couple not so little anymore) and then we'll see what happens from there.

Carmen will be twelve in December. Yes, Sarah and Kevin have been married now for thirteen years. Yes, the time flew by for us as well. Anyway, Carmen is simply amazing. She plays the flute, in Jazz Band no less, as well as tinkers on the piano and cello. She has been taking Spanish since 1st grade and is going into Junior High this month. I'm not sure daddy is ready for the other changes that are taking place, but she still prefers to play football with the boys and video games, and she wants to be an astronomer and biologist. She is also a bit of a perfectionist. I don't know where she gets it.
Karen is of the socially elite. She is adored by everyone she meets. Her teachers love her. Her friends are numerous. Her manners are kind and generous. Her grades are...Well, nobody is perfect. Karen plays the violin and the trumpet. A strange mix we know, but she loves it. She has also been in Spanish for years and when she wants to, her grades are exceptional. Its just more important for this cute 10-year-old right now to be well-liked, then well-versed. She has promised the 5th grade will be much more educational.
Elizabeth will be in kindergarten this year. She has already told me what she will be wearing the first day of school. Lizzy, as we call her, has a will of iron. Our little 5-year-old is so smart for her age, and when she wants something she gets it. Her days are spent making up fantastic stories about her little ponies, mermaids, and fairies. It is so much fun to listen outside her bedroom door and hear her tales of magic and drama. Lizzy is always going places, even if its only in her imagination.
Victoria is starting preschool this year. Having turned 3 in February, she has a sense of humor that can't be topped. From her funny faces, to her unexpected comments, she's an absolute treasure of wit. The other day she came into our room requesting breakfast. We weren't fast enough for her though, because she came back about 30 seconds later and said, "Are you coming, or what?" For a 3-year-old that's cute, and funny. We know she also thought it was funny because then she giggled. Toddler giggles are the best "happy sound".
